matt and i celebrated our anniversary a few days early with a trip to half moon bay. some friends recommended cypress inn so we had to check it out.
we picked a room that had an ocean view and LOVED it. we’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast before – maybe because they look too flowery and lacy and should have cats running around (and i’m not opposed to cats – just not while i’m on vacation). but this little place was ADORABLE and they delivered quiche, croissants, fresh fruit and coffee for breakfast to our room. the view wasn’t bad either!
we rented bikes the next day and took a little bike ride along the water and then grabbed lunch at half moon bay brewing company which was amazing! the weather was perfect! it was a wonderful little trip and we can’t wait to go back!
the main reason we went to half moon bay was because it was only 30 minutes from the colplay concert at the shoreline amphitheatre in mountain view. i got tickets as my valentine’s day present so we decided to make a mini-vacation out of it. we had lawn seats which were great. the show was amazing – pure entertainment the whole time and a free cd at the end which was sweet!
when we bought the tickets in february, mountain view was the closest show. the day they went on sale, they sold out and announced another show the next day … in sacramento (well… close to sacramento anyway)! go figure. so after the show on monday night we had the itch to go again. so jasen and amanda found tickets on craigslist for a killer price. we sat dead center about half way up and could see and hear EVERYTHING!! it was even better the second time around!!

Glad you loved Cypress Inn. We did too. Those ocean-view rooms just make you want to stay forever! Happy Anniversary!
