i loved this quote that was posted with this picture. as for slaying dragons… ashley has been a real champ the last few days with her recovery in the hospital. tuesday started out pretty rough with the pain medication not working as well as it needed to, but once they switched it her pain went from a 12 to a 3, so that helped. then around 4:00 they had to move her which was excruciating.
for the good news, the physicians assistant (pa) was able to show ashley and my parents an x-ray of her spine before and after and ashley said she felt like she was living a dream. the pa said it looked better than he and the surgeon ever hoped for! so that is fabulous news!
she’s still not eating anything but was able to hold her own cup of ice yesterday and enjoy the beautiful view from her room. our prayer requests right now are for managing the pain, getting good sleep and letting her body heal both physically and emotionally. ben has been such a champ as well with visiting her before he goes to work in the mornings and then after work in the evenings. he helps keep a smile on her face!
